FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT APPELLATE AI TOOLS
An Appellate Attorney developed a collection of Appellate AI Tools to help give appellate practitioners a distinct advantage at every stage of appeal.
IS THIS ETHICAL? Attorneys have been sanctioned for using AI to draft briefs without verifying the accuracy of cited cases. My Appeal Coach's tools don't draft briefs. They summarize the appellate record, review briefs for grammar and style, develop questions likely to be asked by the Court at oral argument, and even let you practice before a moot court.
WHAT ABOUT ATTORNEY-CLIENT PRIVILEGE? The documents uploaded to these tools should be in the public record. The Appeal Record, your brief, and your opponent's brief are typically public filings.
DOESN'T AI MAKE MISTAKES? It can. My Appeal Coach's AI tools are constantly improving. If you aren't satisfied with your session, click the "Trouble" button at the end and explain what happened. You will automatically receive credit.
HOW IS THIS BETTER THAN ASKING CHAT GPT ABOUT MY CASE? One of the challenges in using AI is developing the correct prompts. These tools don't just send questions to AI about your case; they contain approximately 20,000 lines of code designed to send the right prompts to generate the best quality responses. The output is in a user-friendly format that makes it easier to understand the material. The results can be downloaded. The Moot Court Simulator is an interactive program that tracks your time, analyzes your answer, and critiques your spoken word.
WILL THIS REALLY HELP ME PREPARE FOR APPEAL? Attorneys who use these tools say that it's a game-changer--especially in complex cases and for small firms who don't have the time or resources to moot their cases.
CAN I TALK TO A HUMAN BEFORE TRYING THIS OUT? Of course, email MyAppealCoach@gmail.com.
WHO CREATED THIS? An Appellate Advocacy Professor and moot court coach with 25 years of experience, who has successfully litigated cases in the United States Supreme Court, Federal Appellate Court, and two State Supreme Courts.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? We encourage attorneys to subscribe. A $100/month subscription allows you to use tools five times per month. A $250/month subscription allows you to use tools 25 times per month. Overages are $25 per tool, and some tools come free with subscriptions. A one-time use is $100 per tool.
WILL THIS SAVE MY CLIENT MONEY? Asking five attorneys at a typical firm to review your case, prepare for a moot session, and then moot your case would cost dozens of billable hours and thousands of dollars. The same moot session can be completed with these tools any time, any place, and cost between $10 and $100 (depending on your subscription package). These tools also summarize your record, proof your brief, etc. much faster and more efficiently than humans.
